
Lornie Mueller began working with metal as a child in Montana. A torch, a piece of iron, a piece of steel, became the medium for expression. The study of Chemistry at the University of Montana whetted his appetite to understand the properties of metal. Lornie opened Lithos Jewelry in the early 80's. He established the Goldsmithing and Design program for the state of Montana. The move to Florida opened a larger market. There he began creating innovative designs with mixed metals and black South Sea pearls.
Lornie and his wife Rose actively mined sapphires in Montana. The lure of gemstones took them to the major mines around the world The last quest was the black pearl farms of French Polynesia. The world of gemstones, the strength of metals come to fruition in design.
