Dear Friends,
We reached a milestone in Cozumel. We each have logged 1004 dives. The water was colder than in the past. Perhaps it’s an indication we’ll have an easy hurricane season. The majestic eagle rays joined us on one dive, showing off their strength in the currents, taunting us to join them. Aman returned from Afghanistan for three weeks and dove with us. Our 4 year old, Alia, snorkeled in the Gulf, while closely watched. Her head moved as a gyroscope while taking in the wonders of the sea below.

This featured necklace is made of faceted spessartite garnet and antique ivory beads. Garnet belongs to a group of several related mineral species. The species within the group have related chemical structures, chemical compositions or both. The individual species are further broken out into varieties. For example we have the grossular species of the varieties hessonite and tsavorite garnet; the andradite species of the variety demantoid; the pyrope-almandite species of the variety rhodolite; the almandite species of the variety spessartite. There are many common varieties of garnet and many varieties that are quite rare. The green garnets, tsavorite and demantoid are very rare. Garnet is 7-7 1/2 in hardness. It is easily scratched or abraded. It is very brilliant. The clasp is made of pave set almandine garnets.
We want to thank all of you for your prayers, thoughts and concerns for our daughter, Naomi. She will make a full recovery.
Thank you again for your patronage and friendship. We appreciate all of you.
With love,
Lornie and Rose
