Volume 5 Issue 1 |
Dear Friends,
Ray Bradbury was a favorite author in my teens. Throughout my life I've thought many times about a short story he wrote, the Sound of Fury. It is about a man who takes a time machine to return to the age of dinosaurs with the intent of killing one. The stipulation is that no one can leave the created pathway from the machine to the dinosaur. Any alteration of that past could have repercussions on the future. The man arrives only to realize the terror in his very soul when confronting the beast he came to kill. He has his chance to shoot and runs instead. His panic causes him to lose all sense of what he had to do to return to the machine. He falls from the path and steps on the ground. That one step and the death of one butterfly changed life as we knew it. Our lives are like that step. It only takes one to alter our destiny. The importance comes with understanding those very choices we've made and the consequences of them on our lives. As we enter a new year it is something to ponder.
There are many shapes of diamonds. There are the common ones: the round, princess, pear, marquise, emerald and oval cuts. Other types of shapes are born of these. The radiant is an emerald cut with more facets. The cushion is a modified round brilliant. Very special cuts are usually patented. The diamonds earrings shown here have such a cut. It is the Asscher Cut. The cut gives a stark, yet dramatic appearance to the diamond. In these earrings, this is tempered by the micro pave set, full cut round brilliant diamonds that surround it. There is the addition of black full cut round brilliants for more contrast. All the diamonds are set in platinum, the most regal of metals.

Thank you again for your patronage and friendship. We appreciate all of you.
With love,
Lornie and Rose
