The Perfect Storm

I don’t know exactly when I put two-and-two together and realized the collision course I was on. The coming events were not part of some impending cataclysm of nature, but nonetheless, a bit of a chill ran down my spine. Looming in the not-so-distant future were two monuments in the life of my family. First, my wife was turning 50. That alone is a force to be reckoned with, and yet a mere three months later we would be celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. The writing was on the wall—I needed help. Luckily, I knew just who to turn to.

We have known Lornie and Rose Mueller for close to 20 years now, and in that time we have come to trust them completely in matters relating to fine jewelry. In my opinion, their ability to match the person to the perfect piece is unparalleled. They not only have the knowledge and expertise, but also the desire and tenacity to work with each individual to get it right. Although several years ago we moved from Florida to the Pacific Northwest, they have remained dear friends and on more than one occasion, they have gone above and beyond to help me find just the right gift for the special occasions in our lives.

This particular double-header occasion called for something big. I contacted Lithos and talked to them about my idea for a new diamond solitaire ring. Rose persuaded me that, rather than pick it out myself, I should consider letting my wife have that honor (and enjoyment). Good call!!! For her birthday, I hid a large “diamond ring” from the Dollar Store in her cake. After the initial perplexed look, I explained that she was going to work with Lornie and Rose to design her combination birthday/anniversary gift. She loved the idea! She had a wonderful time researching, planning and working with the Mueller’s, and finally decided on a new solitaire with an accompanying diamond anniversary band. Lornie special ordered some fantastic diamonds that were within our price range, and then designed and made two beautiful rings. As far as my wife is concerned, they are the perfect set (which might explain why I catch her admiring them so often).
